UMRio has been working in Morro do Castro since 2013, a favela with 6000 inhabitants, located between Niteroi and Sao Gonçalo. Our key partners in the favela are  João Brazil School and the Residents Association.

It started out as a project playing rugby once a week and has grown into a full-fledged NGO that provides 42 hours of training and extra curricular activities per week.

In 2015 we became an official NGO in Brazil and have set up committees in São Paulo, London, Oxford, Cambridge and Amsterdam.
